As a software developer looking for a machine capable of managing the software requirements for construction, and is a multimedia machine, this is a good choice. Quad Core and 4 GB of RAM or handles everything with elegance. One thing I would criticize the software package from HP. HP is slow to resolve their software problems that can be annoying. After the removal of some of them and disabling them, I'm much happier.
Also, I run the film through an old projector that can handle 1080i, but no HDMI or encrypted digital signals. VGA port can output 1080 Nice equivalents saved me from having to buy a new projector to run Blu-ray with a decent resolution. I would have had an optical audio port for my legacy sytem also Bose, unfortunately the only options surround sound HDMI, I can take in, but I found a USB audio device well managed to send my Bose Surround Sound.
Playback of Blu-ray laptop screen is beautiful, and the built-in speakers with subwoofer under sounds really good. Maybe not enough to trully fill a room, but to watch a movie on your lap, very beautiful. The only problem with the screen is a mirror of large dimensions, like the reflections make this laptop unusable outdoors or in bright light. Would not work well sit down at a cafe, enjoying a beautiful day.
Overall I'm satisfied with this car is almost perfect enough to get 5 stars.
